WALK INTO YOUR DESTINY EVEN ON ONE LEG

One day, I visited my village and I wanted to say hi to an old childhood friend before leaving to the city. I was told he has relocated to the next village and I had no option than to walk. After 30 minutes walk, it was all tall trees in a lonely path I could see ahead of me.  

I became very exhausted and running out of energy to carry on until I came across an old amputated man walking on that same footpath with clutches. I greeted and ask to make sure I was on the right track and he responded.

"Yes, you are. I'm also going there to visit my sick friend".

I was amazed and taken aback. I later realized that he has been walking for the past 2 hours and never complaining of the distance.

As I walked past him, thoughts of this old man walking on just one leg filled my mind. I could just imagine the number of hours more he had to walk to the next village and pay a visit to a sick friend. What even got me sadder was how the old man would walk back home on that lonely and quiet footpath and on just one leg. 

Friends, don't get tired walking towards the goal in your life. The path may be very rough, lonely and boring but keep your focus and you will surely get there. If you are getting tired, then remember that someone is walking on just one leg to his destination.. Don't give up so soon. Your glory could just be around you.

May be you have found yourself walking all alone in life. The path may not be the most entertaining type with lots of interesting people on the way but you just have to keep going so far as it leads to the right and desired destiny. It is not a matter of how rocky and lonely the path may be but whether it will lead us there. 

Any time you are to fed and feel like giving up, remember that someone is still walking on just one leg and plying the same root that you are walking with both legs and complaining bitterly. You just have to encourage yourself and move on in life.

NEGLECTING GOD AND CHASING MONEY

As soon as Mr. Yawson's alarm clock struck at 4:00am, he flicked his eyes open, gave out a loud yawn and swung to his feet. He quickly scurried to the washroom to wash down and prepare for work. He knew he has a tall to-do list and attend countless meetings to seal a business deal. There he heard a voice that sent a shiver into his spine and he froze at once.

"My son, I love you so much but you don't return my love. It's always about you, your work, workers, customers and you. I kept you alive this morning, gave you good health & strength but no appreciation and simple thank you for me. You don’t have time to talk to me all because you claim you are always busy. Ironically, you make time to call your customers & thank them but you at times forget to thank me for giving you the life and strength to make all those monies that have preoccupied you.

“You don't even have time for your family. Putting money on the table for your family is not a sign of a good and a responsible father. Your money cannot build their strong spiritual relationship with me. Your money cannot buy them personal salvation. It all depends on you. You have to introduce them to true worship and teach them how live a godly life.

“Sadly, you only talk to me when in need. Oh my son, what kind of relationship is this that you only talk to your father when you are only in need? The big amounts of money you give in church only assists my work but I’m not impressed. Money cannot restitute the quality time I want to share with you”.

At this moment, Mr. Yawson broke down in tears when he realized how busy schedules had caused him to neglect his God and his family. He slowly went on bended knees as tears welled up in his eyes and glittered. The voice continued to speak.

“I deliberately blessed you to be a blessing to the church, your family and many people. Unfortunately, you don’t even have time to attend church and spend quality time with your family. My son, I just wanted to test you with this little opportunity but you have proved to me that a bigger opportunity will sweep your feet away from my house.

“I am always watching my children. Their attitudes towards me in times of abundance will determine what I’ll do next in their lives. My son, if only you will know my purpose for your life, then you won’t be chasing after the gifts of this world and neglect the giver of the gifts.

“If only you will have time for me and my work and your family, then you can go far in life”, the voice ended. 

Mr. Yawson could not utter any word. He fell prostrate on the floor in the washroom as he prayed for forgiveness. As a sign of repentance, he called his entire household and led morning devotion for the first time. His words of exhortation were the exact words the voice told him. That marked the beginning of daily devotion life in the family of the Yawsons.

My friends, God is not interested in our offerings if we cannot first offer our time and bodies to Him for His work and purpose. How will you feel if your life partner, boyfriend or girlfriend only talks to you when that person needs money or something? That’s how God feels about us when we neglect Him. It’s time to stop chasing material things and have time for God as well.

YOU MUST CHANGE YOUR THINKING

One of the greatest gifts that God has given mankind is the mind. All the greatest and beautiful man-made things we see in the world first started as an idea conceived by just an individual. In fact, no one is created to be a nonentity. There is a divine purpose for creating everyone. 

More often than not, some people find themselves stuck to something that is not working. It could be a bad job, marriage, relationship or anything else. Man, you remain if you complain. Complaints do not produce good results; they rather aggravate the situation. You must stop complaining and start thinking to fetch good solutions to bring total transformation. 

To have a change of mind is not something automatic. One does not just change his or her mind until something triggers it. A change in thinking doesn't happen on its own. Good ideas to transform lives and generations don't go out looking for people. If you want good ideas, you must search for it by conscious efforts. To be a better thinker, you must work at becoming one and not just a mere wishful thinking.

One of the maladies of our generation is static thinking. It is not easy to change one's mind but man must not be static. Changed thinking is difficult. In fact, Albert Einstein once said, "Thinking is a hard work; that is why only few do it". Thinking is difficult and one needs discipline and conscious efforts to think. Most of the problems of today's generation were as a result of the lazy thinking our forefathers did. The disaster that awaits our children's generation is worst if we don't think of doing something for posterity. 

One of the greatest investments in the world is to change one's thinking pattern for exploits. We cannot solve today's problems with the same old ways of thinking. Napoleon Hills once said, "More gold has been mind from the thoughts of men than has ever been taken from the earth". 

My friends, the next big thing the world is waiting for is right in your mind as little ideas that you may not regard. The next gold mine is right in your mind. Changed thinking is worth the investment. Yes, it is worth it! Yes, you, you, you can do it if only you want to change your mind for the better. 

Finally, the Bible entreats us in Rom 12:2 to renew our minds. Treat this as an emergency if only you want your ideas to leave the abstract stage into realities and fulfillment. Remember, Prov. 23:7 says, "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he". Negative thinking has never produced any positive life. If only you can imagine it and put it to practice, then you can achieve it. Nothing is more self satisfying than your own act of creative thinking to put smiles on the faces of people. You must  change your thinking now!!!!

A NEGATIVE MIND WILL NEVER PRODUCE A POSITIVE LIFE

A negative mind will never produce a positive life. 

A negative mind is like the trash can where all the trashes of life are kept. 

A negative mind never attracts real beauty in life. 

A negative mind will not attract great potentials in life. 

A negative mind produces negative results. 

The Bible implores us to be watchful of whatever we think OF which descends down into our heart. In Prov. 23:7, the Bible said as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. You are a product of your thoughts. The negative the thoughts, the worse life will be. 

In Rom. 12:2, the Bible admonishes us to renew our minds. We cannot reach the next level with the same old and negative ways of thinking. It is worst to wake up each morning with a negative mind. This will affect your day and block your senses to see the positive and potentials in everything around you. You have the power and the ability to think right. Let's avoid the negative mind.  

WAKE UP AND CHASE YOUR VISION

Every morning presents us with two opportunities and two choices to make. You either continue sleeping with your dreams and dream more dreams or you wake up and chase your dreams to achieve them. 

At times, we are very tired, feeling weak and sick when the dawn of a new day comes. We can feign to be sick and lie in bed all day, enjoy a sound sleep and relax but our dreams and visions will forever be a dream and a vision in our minds and heart and never reaching the reality stage. 

Many people report sick on Mondays and others feign sick. Why? Mondays bring some sought of seriousness and getting back to the same old, tedious and boring work environment or school is hell. 

We just need to encourage ourselves, wake up from bed and chase our dreams until they reach the realities we desire. How happy we become when our dreams or visions leave the abstract stage and reach the fulfilment stages in life. We have to do everything possible to wake up each day and start the new day with new energies fired into our system to work. Here are a few things to do to encourage you.

 1. Wake up with a positive mindset  

 2. Have a list of things to do

 3. Set goals for yourself for the day and don't attempt doing everything. They bring more stress

 4. Try to do the same old and boring staffs in a new and interesting way. 

 5. Be focused on the set target to achieve and this could assist you to overcome laziness and wake up. 

 Remember, even the richest men on earth are still working.

BELIEVE THE BEST IN PEOPLE

It is very easy for someone to believe in you when you succeed in life; but the one that believed in you first before you succeeded is greatest of all to have seen what others did not see from the beginning --- Arch Bishop Duncan Williams.

Many women have left their boyfriends and fiancés because they could not simply believe in their capabilities. This great doubt created uncertainties in their minds and heart about their security in the future. As a result, many of these women slip through the exit way and rush into the arms of other men they felt secured with. 

Many of the great men the world has ever produced were first rejected and despised by both men and women. They found their ideas very weird and strange to be achieved. These men were most of the times left alone trying and trying their ideas to work. Many women hate such type of genius men. Women want men who will always be around them, talk to them and make them smile and happy.

In fact, it is very easy to believe in someone and embrace their ideas when they have succeeded in life. On the other hand, people find difficult to see the greatness in you carry in your mind when you are a “nobody” today.

Let’s believe in the capabilities of people and encourage them. 

DRIVE FASTER

A teacher once organized a lesson for her toddler class. She decided to teach them the meaning of the colours of the traffic light. 

"Red means stop", she commenced to teach with full energy. 

"Yellow means get ready"

"Green means go, go, go and go" she concluded reciting the old poem. 

Soon after she finished and was about to ask her pupils to repeat after her, Lovia, one of her pupils shot up her hand. 

"Please Madam, I have a question", she said amidst doubts that could be read on her face. 

"Yes, ask your question", the teacher said. 

"Please, i think the yellow light means drive faster", she expressed her views as the teacher bust into laughter. 

"Why do you think so?" she asked the little girl. 

"Please Madam, I think so because any time daddy is driving and the yellow light shows up, he drives faster", she concluded with a feeling of convincing the teacher. 

"That is good, Lovia!" the teacher responded. "Daddy has the right to drive faster when the yellow light shows before he will be stopped by the red light. The yellow means you should be getting ready to stop. 

There are a few lessons to be learnt here. The amber or the yellow light should be a warning signal to prompt us of stoppages in life. At times, we need to drive faster knowing very well that the red lights of life will stop us from progressing, reaching our target and not achieving the set goals. 

The amber or the yellow light should fuel some energy into us to fight on and strive to scale over all the hurdles and match forward. 

Let's drive faster when all shows that life, business, work and good things are getting ready to stop. There is no stopping after crossing the traffic lights in light. Drive on to achieve your vision in this year. 

GREAT MINDS AT WORK

All the wonders we see and hail in the world today emanate from the creative ideas of individuals who took actions to realize their dreams. There is nothing that cannot be done if we could first conceive it and thereafter take actions.

Ideas are very powerful. They are like viable seeds that need to be planted on good soil in order to germinate and bear fruits for all to enjoy. On the other hand, a great idea planted on bad soil may germinate with stunted growth and never bear fruits at all.

Whether great ideas develop from conscious efforts or by accidents, what matters is its fruition but not only the conception.

It is amazing to hear what people think about and discuss. I have always heard people spend endless hours on TV and radio discuss events, the flaws, the good and the bad and even to the point of the worst dressed personality at the event. These presenters call themselves professional presenters hosting the most sizzling shows. Are they “Professionally Average Minded People?”

Never sweat talking about events and people in this year. It is a waste of time. We don’t better our lives by talking about people and criticizing others. Talking about events is getting your mind and life glued to the past. Let’s get talking about great ideas that can transform our generation and thereafter take action.

The seed of greatness is in you! Yes, you! Most of the great inventors recorded in the annals of history did not have good formal education. What matters is being passionate about your dreams, your purpose on earth and staying focus despite all odds. 

KNOCKED OUT IN LIFE!

 There are so many situations that may knock us down in one way or the other. Most of the times, some of these knock outs could be so severe and terrible to the extent that it could spell the doom of our future. Many people find it difficult to get up and bounce back after being knocked out in life due to accidents, sickness, terrible situations and many breathtaking untold ugly spectacles.

Life is full of so many twists and turns. The most important thing is to get up after we are knocked down. If you don’t get up and bounce back, you will remain in the same ugly situation. Unfortunately, some people have a scarred memory due to what they went through and sworn not to do any good again but the good news is that, others have bounced back after the knock out and the fall. FINISHING THE RACE FROM THE BEGINNING

It is of no use to start any race knowing very well that you will not finish it on a good note. It saddens my heart to see people faint and fall by the roadside in life when others are still moving forward. Most of the time, winners of any race knew that they will surely win because they knew the amount of relentless efforts that have gone into their preparatory stages.  Battles and races are won at home and declared at the battle field. He who goes to the battle field to train is a defeated fellow because all your energies will dissipate. Strategy is what is needed. Here are a few things to do to achieve your vision in this year.

1.      Prayer: You should be able to evoke the presence of God in order to download His will for a definite direction. You cannot start a new year without prayer and be expecting signs and wonders to follow you in all that you do.  

2.      Planning: This is one of the non-negotiable elements of success in life. Man, you’ve got to sit down and plan your life after praying to receive divine wisdom, understanding and direction. Many people spend so many years planning their weddings, birthdays and anniversaries to celebrate it in grand style but hardly sit down to plan their own lives.no wonder so many people are living unfulfilled lives.

3.      Preparations: Success is easily clocked when preparations meet opportunities. Without preparations, you will be taken unaware and you will have yourself to blame for failing to achieve your goals. You can’t get it if you are not prepared for it!

4.      Proceed in Action: It is not enough to pray, but after that plan, prepare and take action. Actions will release your dreams and visions from the abstract state into realities. Without proper actions, your dreams will forever be on paper and in your minds.

5.      Progress Monitoring: A life lived without evaluation is not worth living. You must continually monitor your progress to check whether you are on track. This will assist you to correct deviations and measure your performance against standards.

Your destiny is in your own hands. You have the right to succeed or fail. If only you can finish the race, then it depends on the true elements forming the basis and foundations of your dream. 

THE WORST OR GREATEST LIMITATIONS

"Our only limitations are those we set up in our own minds", says Napoleon Hill.  

There are indeed obstacles in life but the worst obstacle that is very difficult to deal with is the one we firmly ground in our minds and in our hearts. There is no limitation in life that cannot be surmounted. 

As we begin a new year, you may have wonderful dreams or visions; some of which are visions that will shoot you into the limelight of fame. Each year, there are tons of dreams and visions conceived in the minds and hearts of almost everyone but only a few are birthed by the end of the year. The rest become still births or aborted ideas at its embryonic stage. 

The pathetic thing is that we at times become our own enemies placing limitations on ourselves. If only you can think of it, take action and remain focus in life, then money will surely find you to propel your dreams and visions into action even if you do not have money. 

What must we do? Clearly define your vision and simplify it. There is nothing more frustrating than a vision that is haphazardly outlined without definite actions and milestones.If you cannot get the picture clearly, how then can you explain it to someone and your bankers for financial support. A clearly defined vision creates a better picture and attracts support. 

Do not place any limitation on your dreams or visions! Do not abort your ideas that will liberate your generation and the world from a particular problem. Best wishes in your endeavours!

The Best Movies of the Year.

How do you feel when you watch the classic movies that nearly stole your breath and heart away? Most of the times, we tend to get angry when the movie that glued us to our seats seem to end so soon. And most often, we would love to watch those movies over and over again. The worst happens when we are disappointed in the way a script is poorly written and badly acted. The obvious result would be perhaps, rain insults and criticisms on the writer, actors and the producers.  

It is not only a good story that makes the best movies but the individual efforts from the writer, director, actors and all those involved in the production process.  

The best movies are yet to be released. And of course, you are the writer, director, producer, the main brain behind the scene and everything. That movie is your life. Yes, your life! You are the writer and director of your own life in this year. Every choice you make will be the starting point of another chapter in your life. Whether the story will be full of horror, romance or the best ever all depends on you.  

The next time you criticise and insult any movie writer, producer or actor, remember that your life is also like a movie. People are watching you right from the scratch. If the insults and criticisms start from the scratch, then you may have to reverse the movie, correct some scenes and actions for a better result.

DOING THE WRONG THING AND EXPECTING THE RIGHT RESULTS

Stephen rushed home one evening and turned on his TV set but all efforts proved futile. He was getting impatient because he has managed to convince his co-workers to watch his favourite football team thrash out their arch-enemy in the final league match. 

The cheerful smiles on his face rolled away and vanished in a jiffy causing him much frustration and anxiety. He was wondering what could be wrong with his TV set. Stephen could not contain the embarrassing moment as all eyes popped out of their sockets and fixed on him. 

"I don't really know what the hell is happening in my house!" he exclaimed. "This has not happened to me before. These machines are always working but I can't simply figure out the problem". 

 

In his frustration, he called his wife from the kitchen and wanted to accuse her for messing up the set up in his room. 

"Stephen!", his wife, Lovelyn, called with an infectious smile as she walked towards them after watching her confused husband for a while. "I did not mess up the set up. Everything is always in order in our home", she said as she still smiled. 

The smiles on the face of his wife crippled Stephen's thoughts. He could not simply understand why his wife should be smiling happily in the mists of his frustration and embarrassment before his co-workers. She came closer, threw her hands on his shoulders and said, "You were using the wrong TV remote control". 

Lovelyn picked the right TV Remote Control and turned on the TV set. Stephen heaved a deep sigh of relieve as his friends continuously teased him. 

                                         7 QUICK LESSONS

1. You cannot live your life with another manual and control system and expecting results. 

2. You are unique like each brand of TV set; identify your unique manual for your life. 

3. You cannot expect much success in the year 2014 with the same old principles, manuals and control systems that hardly worked in the year 2013. 

4. Hard work with the wrong vision and manual with not always lead to targeted results but frustration. 

5. Don't just start something because you are familiar with it; you can easily miss it (the wrong TV remote control). 
6. You cannot do the wrong thing and be expecting the right results. 
7. If you don't like outcome of your actions, then pause and check the inputs. Garbage in, Garbage out!

CONFIDENCE IS A WIN ATTITUDE

As I was walked confidently to the reception, I was approached by a stunningly dressed beautiful young lady on whose face was a broad welcoming smile.

“You’re welcome, Sir!” she said amidst an infectious smile. “Please this way. Follow me to the CEO’s Office”, she directed and led me to the CEO’s office though many people were seated in a long queue to see the CEO.  

I was surprised at the special attention given me though I always wanted a special treatment in my life. I had the best deal in my life and wondered whether a special favor has been bestowed on me. As the CEO walked me to the gate to see me off, another handsome gentleman clad in an expensive dress walked into the premises. 

I bade them goodbye and drove off. Later events in life made me to understand that the company was expecting the son of the Finance and Economic Planning Minister of State to sign a good deal with the company. Unfortunately for the company, they did not know him in person. I was given the deal instead of him.

In my sober reflections, I deduced some lessons in life.

 a. Always dressed as a prospect wherever you go and not a suspect.

       b. The way you dress is the way people will address you.
      c. If you don’t like the reception people give you then improve on your dressing. If it persists, then check your character.
      d. At times, your appearance is the best marketing tool to pave a way for you.

YOU MUST DRIVE YOUR BUSINESS

"If you don't drive your business, you will be driven out of business", says B.C. Forbes. You must put in more strategies to drive your business but not only energies. Energy dissipates but strategy differentiates. Many businesses closed down in the year 2013; they have no option than to blame others and the economy.

A lot of people still remain jobless because they are depending on their energy but not strategy to get a job and survive. At all cost, be seen driving forward... 

AFTER THE CELEBRATIONS, FIND A GOOD JOB

Christmas is a wonderful time that leaves much fond memories. It brings a lot of people together as we remember the birth of Christ to save mankind and making it possible for us to socialize in the Christendom as one body. 

One Cannot simply fathom the gargantuan celebrations going on elsewhere where there are more than necessary to eat and drink. At the same time, many are also still looking up to God for a miracle before getting a meal. 

To all those still searching for good jobs, this is the best time to connect yourself to the CEO's at the mouth-watering parties. Remember, your old conditions and poverty will stare you in the face when the music fades and the bottles of wine are empty. 

Don't forget that at times, the best jobs are not advertised but reserved for those who are known by top management. After the celebrations, find a good job but start connecting yourself now.
